Goats on the Scene

After a weekend visit with Karen, the "goat whisperer", we were sold on welcoming 20 Kiko goats (originally bred in New Zealand). They arrived on the scene after a multi-day trip from Kopf Canyon Ranch about as wide-eyed as we were.


Kiko goats are a performance breed bred on selection standards such as: temperament, sociability, forgeability, weather tolerant, etc.


This herd - which we split up between male and female - has three Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs. They stick with the animals and are gradually warming up to human interaction.
